About Our Car Club

The Road Knights Club was first organized in 1947, enjoying much
success as one of the nation's leading car clubs. They formed a timing
association (drag races), and raced weekly at the Sturgis, Ky drag strip.
The Road Knights also provided assistance to the Junior Chamber of
Commerce for its annual Soap Box Derby, and also held an annual car
show, the Mid-States Autorama.  The Road Knights were recognized as
a philanthropic, civic organization whose proceeds went to charitable
causes.  However, by the late 60's and early 70's the interest had waned
and the club ceased to exist.

In December 2004, with the blessing of some of the original members,
Norris Gray, Doris Gray, Chris Miller, and several others revived the Road
Knights.

The Road Knights meet on the 3rd Monday of the month at the Carousel
Restaurant at 6:00 pm. Potential members and the general public are
invited to attend.  Members acquiesce and a good time is had by all!

Currently, there are 70+ members, which include Mark Brittingham,
Gerald Compton, Gary Ellard, Bucky Knight (deceased), Jim
Sermersheim, and Dan Titzer, original Road Knights members. The
